Just updated this after 8 years of having this site. It is May 25, 2018.
I was studying for CEH a long time ago when a band asked to buy my old handle, Brew. I agreed. I needed a new handle and was watching Tom Petty’s Don’t Come Around Here No More where he is dressed as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. It dawned on me as an ethical hacker that I would be the Mad White Hatter. Some ask if I hate white people. No. They just cannot read.
I was an intelligence analyst in the Army, but now I focus mostly on IT these days. I’ve forgotten more than I remember when it comes to hacking because most of it was from long before I joined the Army, and things have changed significantly over the years.
I started my hacking days when I was a little kid. My mom thought computers would be important for my future, so she got me a Commodore Vic 20 when I was 5. I evolved as IT evolved with a 286 and a gold monochrome monitor. I got my first 20MB hard drive thinking there would be no way I could fill it. I connected to bulletin board systems (BBSs) with a 14.4k modem and worked up to a 56k. Back then, I would stay up late to use the phone line to connect. I’d sleep right after school if I wasn’t working and repeat. Computing was more pure back then. Today, it is mostly mass media storage.
